Welcome!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂 I'm so excited that you're here.
I'm Andrea, the blogger behind French Pressed Kitchen. I decided to finally start writing this blog after much encouragement from friends, and realizing most of my free time was spent cooking, thinking about food, or reading food blogs. I'm excited to share my passion for cooking and food with you, and hope that you'll find some inspiration here for healthy and exciting meals.
My love of cooking and eating started in a two fold manner. In college I discovered I was lactose intolerant and started adjusting my diet accordingly. I realized that when I left out dairy I felt much better - no more stomach aches! My last year of college I lived with my wonderful friend, a dietitian in the making, who really increased my interest in food - ingredients for good cooking, where they come, and how they come together to make delicious things. Since then I've become interested in experimenting with different ingredients, cooking types and of course, challenges (paleo, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, Whole30 approved, etc!). The recipes and food you'll find here focus on my main mantras - eating wholesome food and staying balanced. Plenty of salads and greens, but also some treats to satisfy my sweet tooth and baking needs because after all, no flavor should be left behind.
When I'm not recipe hunting or brainstorming, I love traveling, exploring cities, hanging with my husband, and being active (sometimes all of these combined). Hiking, swimming, tennis, and HIIT workouts are my favorite. On the food front, I love chocolate chip cookies, pancakes, oatmeal and eggs. I eat some form of these once a week. Post Whole30 I am also on the avocado and black coffee bandwagon.
I'm married to Pedro, a very loyal sous-chef, taste tester and all around great human being who supports all my cooking and food adventures.
